Note:

After registering on RecDesk as “Camp Chatterbox-New/Interested Camper,” please submit the following and submit prior to April 1, 2024:
1. A video of your child using his/her AAC device sent via private YouTube video (instructions detailed below).
2. A copy of your child’s current Speech, OT and PT reports. (Send forms to CampChatterbox@childrens-specialized.org)
3. A copy/picture of your child’s screens or overlay. (Send picture to CampChatterbox@childrens-specialized.org)
4. “New Camper Application” that you will need to complete online at time of registration.

NEW CAMPER VIDEO INTERVIEW DETAILS:
1. The video should be approximately 10-15 minutes long.
2. It may be sent on a standard size CD or DVD that is Mac compatible. *Videotapes are NOT accepted*
3. The video must show the child independently using his/her high tech AAC device. For this segment, the camera should be focused far enough away from the child to show how the child is making selections on his/her system. It should also include a close-up of the screen of the device and a close-up of the child accessing his/her switch.
4. Please include clips of the following:
a. The child answering a series of questions for which each question has a targeted answer (e.g., What color is snow?; You see with your ….?; Name something you can read? etc.)
b. A demonstration of the child’s “typical” use of the device.
c. A sample of home and school device use is desired, but not required.
d. A sample which demonstrates whether the child is combining single words to create messages or using a single button to make a
sentence.
5. Copies of a sampling of the child’s screens or overlays would be appreciated.

HOW TO SUBMIT APPLICATION VIDEO VIA PRIVATE YOUTUBE:
1. Create a YouTube account.
2. Upload video.
3. Click the “arrow pointing up” symbol on the right of the search bar (on YouTube).
4. Under “Select files to upload” there is a dropdown bar that says “Public”.
5. Click on it and change it to “Private”.
6. Click on “Select files to upload” to upload your completed video.
7. After a video has been selected, the screen will change and you will see a blue bar that shows the % of video upload.
8. Title the video with “Campers name – CC Application”.
9. On the far right there is a dropdown bar that says “Private” (change it to “Private” if it says anything else), then beneath that dropdown bar there is a button that says “Share” (it is light grey).
10. Click “Share” (light grey) and a page will come up that says “Share with others”.
11. Enter the email: campchatterbox@childrens-specialized.org.
12. Click “Okay”.
13. Click “Done” button (in blue) at top right corner.

*Please note family members should not register and pay until camper application and video have been reviewed and approved.*
